During a zoom meeting to discuss an agenda where Trustee Henderson, [Chancellor] Rodriguez and Ms. Medina were present, Rodriguez stated that, “Mexican women serve me and they like it.”
On or about July 17, 2023, Board President David Vela, admonished [General Counsel] Medina that if she disclosed concerns about [Chancellor] Rodriguez’ illegal conduct related to contracts to other Trustees she would be fired. Vela told Ms. Medina that he did not want her complaining to him regarding Rodriguez.
During [a] meeting, Ms. Medina informed Trustee Veres, Rodriguez did not like that Medina was not a Mexican woman who “served him and liked it.” Ms. Medina informed Veres that Rodriguez retaliated against her. Veres told Ms. Medina not to complain about Rodriguez and threatened her job. He told her he had the votes to fire Ms. Medina
